I like this thermometer. It works quickly and easily. It has 3 settings based on the age of the person. The switch is right on the front and has 3 months – 6 years, 6 years – 12 years, and above 12 years. This is done based on the different temperatures are considered dangerous / or safe depending on the age of the child or adult. It is important that this be toggled to the proper age. The thermometer has a green, yellow or red background depending on the age and the temperature just taken. To alert the user to the degree of concern that should be taken based on the result. The device runs on batteries that are provided (2- AAA batteries ). The product includes a light gray velvet / velour drawstring bag. I think the bag is provided to ensure the removable piece – that turns this into an ear thermometer – does not get lost. This piece is magnetic. Initially, I thought a part was missing. It was just already attached. If the thermometer does not look like it is an ear thermometer, the part is already attached. To remove just pull and the magnet will release the end showing the pointy ear piece built in. I do not see a way to use an ear wax disposable cover over this style of ear piece, like Braun, for comparison.The display is backlit and easy to read. The temperature seems very accurate in my opinion. The only issue I have is that the temperature disappears VERY quickly. When I am taking my own temperature it is not an issue, I am looking as soon as I pull it away from my forehead, giving me time to see it. It goes away too quickly when I am testing a child, if they are fussy. When taking my husband’s temperature, there is not time for both of us to view the temperature before it disappears. I can go back and see it in the memory but it is easier to just see it after taking it. I have not found a setting to make the current temp stay on the screen longer. For this reason I have deducted one star.The price at the time of this review is $19.99. I think this is an extremely good value. I do recommend this to anyone based on the details above being acceptable.I hope my thoughts and photos help someone.
