Get ready for some ferocious fine motor fun with the Grab That Monster Fine Motor Activity Set! As children open and close the colorful Monster Grabbers to grab and release the cute Mini Monsters, they strengthen the finger muscles they need to begin writing, tying shoes, zipping zippers, and more. Build prewriting skills as you grab, sort, and play! The Large Monster Grabbers are specially designed to open and close using only one hand, providing grasping and extension practice that creates muscle memory and builds dexterity. Using the hard-to-open and hard-to-close Monster Grabbers provide different challenges to strengthen little fingers and build fine motor skills. The Red Monster Grabber is the Extension Grabber and the Orange Monster Grabber is the Grasping Grabber. This activity set helps develop the dexterity needed for handwriting by practicing the tripod grip used to hold a pencil. Excellent for young students and toddlers who are learning early writing skills as preschoolers. Sort the Mini Monsters into the Monster Houses by color, design, or attributes and add the spinner for simple structured game play. Promote color matching, sorting, dramatic play, learning positional words, and more with this irresistible activity set specifically designed for little learners. Also helps to improve hand-eye coordination! The spinner and cards provide multiple ways to play and learn. The included Teacher-Created Activity Guide includes 4 games or use the translucent spinner and cards to make up your own game! This set includes 2 Large Monster Grabbers, 48 Mini Monsters (12 each in 4 shapes/colors), 4 Monster Houses with Lids, 2 Double-sided Spinner cards, and 1 Clear Spinner. Great game with multiple ways to play
Love this for my preschoolers of differing abilities.I can adapt this to be difficult or much more simple. The booklet included even made it easier to type up my lesson plan with great ideas. One monster was difficult to grip so I cut up a tripod grasp pencil grip I had and glued the 3 finger holds into the correct places for the students’ fingers which worked well

    Too Big for Small Hands
This is a great activity/game with several options for ways to play. The colors are bright and fun. The only downside is that the grabbers seem to be made for older kids’ or even adults’ hands. My almost-3-year-old can’t really use them correctly because their hand can’t fit around the back of the grabbers and into the finger holes. It seems like it’ll probably be 6 months to a year or more before my toddler can use the grabbers. We resorted to using some kitchen tongs we have for other fine motor activities so we can still play. I do like that one grabber focuses on opening and the other focuses on closing.

    Soooo Fun for Kiddos
I’m a special education teacher and love using these with my kiddos with fine motor goals. Strengthen those fingers to help with their writing skills. They love using these monsters to sort the other monsters into their bins. So much good stuff you can work on: counting, sorting, colors, turn taking, sharing, same/different, more/less, language building, fine motor, OT, following directions… Highly recommend!

    Not successful
The idea of the game is great and the appeal of the little characters is there but the grips are too big for 3 year olds in pre-k. And for my 4 yr old students, if they can hold the grippers in their hands, they can’t grab the little characters – the characters slip out of the mouths of the grips. So the whole game falls apart. As a therapist who was planning to use this as a fine motor strengthener – I don’t recommend this game.

My child struggles with fine motor skills, so I got this as a fun way to improve them. This comes with four tubs of little monster parts with lids and two Monster grippers.Great for younger ones, are children with special educational needs as there’s not an open-ended play with this toy. There’s four different games to play in the instructions and comes with cards in a sucker spinner. My preschool loves this, and hopefully will improve fine motor skills and dexterity. Would recommend

This is a simple set and it is a lot of fun as well as providing a learning experience for little ones in dexterity, colour recognition and simple number recognition. In the box you get the two grab monsters which have different sized finger holes on the back, the orange one has bigger finger holes than the red one. Four plastic houses full of monster shapes, a suction plastic spinner and four sides (2 cards with a board on the front and back) to attach it to for each game. I do think this is a bit of a cheaper way to do it and would have preferred four cards each with a spinner on as the spinner could easily get lost or broken and if so you can’t play any of the specified games. The instructions give you four different games to play, you don’t need to use the grabby monsters to play the below but it is fun to and they do help with hand/eye coordination, which includes:Monster Match (uses colour spin board) – match the monsters with the colour your spinner has landed on and drop them in the houses, a game to see which house fills up first to fill up the little housesMonster Stack (uses shape spinning card) – the player with the highest monster stack wins from spinning the shapesRace Home – (uses number spin card) where players choose a monster colour and its matching house and then the first one to fill that up wins from spinning the numbers board Remix Race (uses challenge spinner card) – which is a variation on Race Home but with challenge spaces so there’s a bit more too it.The quality is good throughout (apart from the spinner which while works feels a bit flimsy) with decent quality plastic and boards. There are some nice little details such as raised plastic windows on the little houses. As well as game pieces the little houses double up as storage for the little monsters, I quite like this as it keeps them secure. The colour of everything is bright and cheerful and all the monsters are really cute, some are however on the small side so something to be aware of for little ones. The instructions are very good with hints and tips as well as rules of the games on how to get the best out of it and the encouragement you can give to little ones, it’s all written neatly and not too long or difficult to understand, the makers have understood their target audience and busy parents and have made something simple, easy to digest and understand and a game that is fun and also robust. It has been keeping my daughter occupied and I think will while away those rainy days.
